so, I haven't even had my new computer for a month, when last Sat it exploded.
I was like, wtf... the noise, the smoke, the smell...
oh gosh.
and HP Support sucks. they just sent me my damn box today. and now I have to box up the whole comp and send it all the way to Texas.

what an eventful day.
barely made it to work... car went wonky on the way, all the lights on, gauges at zero, beeping, and clicking... ah jeez.
so it did die as soon as I parked. had to have Dad come and jump it afterwards. we thought we could make it to Andi's house so Will could look at.
got as far as the turn for B&N, where it promptly died, yet again. lost the all power. so Dad jumps it again, after parking on the medium.
so we get to the parking lot, where it dies yet again. after jumping it again, we rolled the windows up and then left it there, since there was so much traffic. although, we did go back to pick it up. Dad made it all the way to Wickham, where it died, yet again. jump it, and he gets it home, although it dies as he's pulling into the driveway.
jeez.
it's not the battery, though. since it's freakin' brand new.
geh.
and that was just before and after work.
work is a whole other story.
gah.
on a lighter note, go David Cook! woo! in the top 11. yeah, baby.
okay, I'm done.

even though it's 56... and Grandma just got 2 more feet of snow today. hah.
spent the weekend doing my taxes. hopefully I'll be getting a lot of that money back. although Dad had me worried that he could claim me as a dependent and then he'd get like 800 bucks or something. but I was like, no, I think I'm too old. and it was true.
I eFiled this time. only federal though. to do the state, it would cost $30, and I was like, $30 or 40 cents? yeah.
made sense in my head. I swear.
oh! I'm so excited! I found some jrock cds, cheap-ish on ebay, and so I bought them. yeah, 3 Buck-Ticks and abingdon boy's school's one. yay! so exciting! now I just have to wait for them to arrive.
oh god! something whistled! what whistled? holy crap!
Dad was gonna go to Japan last week and this week, but b/c his boss's passport expires in 6 months, instead they're going on a day trip to New York City... lame.
so, I have tomorrow off. cuz I have to work Sunday... cuz they suck at putting up signs. suck. It's been awhile since I've had a week day off. weird.
QUESTION! (and since it's important, I write in a different color)... does anyone know how to open/access/something fragmented (ish) Word documents? HELP!

and in between doing my taxes, we went shopping too. Toys 'R Us mainly, and Target, Kohls, Party City, etc. got some baby stuff, like the Winnie the Pooh crib set and lamp, and stuff. and then Andi got some maternity clothes, cuz she needed them. especially cuz of the bending over situation. hah.
we're gonna be partying April 12 (I thnk)... baby shower. and Grandma, Aunt Grace, Jessica, Elisa and Emmy, Aunt Carolina and Tina, and maybe some others are coming down. full house, man.
but they're bringing Platter's orange chocolate. which is like the best chocolate in the world. seriously. and it comes from Tonawanda.

so, I bought myself a new computer today. I named it grimmy.
it's gonna take some time to get used to the Vista stuff... things keep popping up and I'm like, omg, what is going on? I don't understand! stop, oh god, stop!
you know, the usual.
now I just have to re-d/l all my stuff... the programs I paid for and the ones I didn't... try and find all my pictures that I had. and stuff.
hamburgerjack, those songs you had just sent me went bye-bye. sadness. try again? please? hah hah, thanks.oh, and
tohma2004, I misplaced your address. and I have goodies to send. so we had this wicked storm last night. around 11 pm, the wind or something snapped one of the trees in our backyard, way at the top of it, which caused that part to come crashing down. luckily it wasn't on my car. (which is still dead). it also caused one of the power thingies at Crossroads to fall over, which had repair crews and cops around that area in the morning.
found out that Quentin's new store is the Roanoke one. sounds like they could use some people up there. (hint, hint)... and Quentin's hilarious. just today he sent an email saying he'd swap his first born if Craig would give him Fatima and Gena. true story.
now to fiddle around.

yeah, so 2008 sucks.
computer broke last week... nothing I did would make it boot up... took out hd and put it in an external enclosure, and it says it's corrupted and unreadable. found a program that could read the partitions and whatnot, but it also says that the hd is fried. another program was able to recover some data, but it's in 227 different folders, so everythings mixed up and all over the place. I think my music is split into many parts, none of which work.
I don't know.
and then, as if that wasn't enough, my f-ing car died yesterday. at Harris Teeter. thankfully, the older gentleman who had parked next to me (a Duke Alumni, mind you), was able to jump my car and I was then able to drive home. where the car died again, and is still dead.
and then all the little things in between just add to it.
though, on a happier note, Katie had her baby, Madison Jaymes, Sat morning.
time to attempt to organize those 227 folders and see what I can salvage.
oh, and if anybody has used Test Disk or PhotoRec, I need help to understand. cuz, that's just a little too much comp speak for me.

for about a week now.

stupid flu got everyone. Mom, Dad, Andi, Will, Michael (to a lesser extent), then there was Craig, Chris, Michelle, Fatima, Katie, Sue... etc.. holy crapazoid.
yeah, Monday, I thought I could go to work after a 101.4 degree temp the previous day... Monday = truck day/ ordering day, plus, since it was PrezDay, 50% coupon, etc... not a good combination. about passed out at the register... jeez. so I left. yeah. unfortunately that was in front of customer, too... I think I freaked her out. oops.
which means, I haven't been on the comp for a week... so sad.
luckily I'm feeling much better.
even went to a bridal dinner yesterday at the Macaroni Grille. although, our waiter... dude, he was so confusing.
American Idol season, right? so there's this one dude, the hairy one, and he said he used to be in a boy-girl group that opened for Britney... and I was like, really? so my shady-90s-pop-music-lovin'-past comes back to help me. and voila *pulls out cd* Boyz-N-Girlz United, featuring Robbie, now on American Idol. can you believe that?

there's another dude, can't remember his singing or whatever... all I can remember, is that he looks like Orlando Bloom. yep. Orlando Bloom.
so I was flipping through the channels last night and stumbled across America's Best Dance Crew (?)... and I was like, where have you been? I mean, Shane Sparks!!!! I heart Shane Sparks! he judges and choreographs on sytcd... and you know, JC Chasez, as well. heh. yeah, I totally liked JabbaWockeeZ as well and Kaba Modern was pretty good too.
now that I've got some energy back, time to do stuff. oh yeah.
